Thailand is possibly one of the top vacation destinations around the world, no doubt because of its all year long warm tropical weather (even when it rains) and low cost, laid back lifestyle.
But if you think your Thailand vacation starts when they open the doors of your plane on touchdown in Bangkok and you're greeted with a blast of a whole new lifestyle, think again. It actually starts from the moment you step out of the confines of your home and head to the airport to catch your flight.
Here's some things you can do then to make your flight to Thailand comfortable and enjoyable:
The first thing to to do is give yourself plenty of breathing time to get to the airport before your plane leaves. By coming early you get a few nice additional benefits too - you get to request which seat you want, you won't be pressured for time if the check in process drags on and you get to do some airport window shopping too!
By the way, getting a good seat certainly can add to the pleasure of the flight. A window seat will give you spectacular take off and landing views, and you'll be able to see exactly what Thailand looks like from above too, as you fly in. Prepare to be amazed. Or you can grab an easier get-in-get-out seat for convenience.
Another thing to keep in mind is that there are size and weight regulations on aircraft carry on luggage, so best not to overdo it. Although you'll carry what's necessary, it pays to pack earplugs, night shades, a hat and some sort of warm, comfortable gear for the flight as well. You want to feel refreshed when you take in those first scenes!
Lastly, it's also a good idea to take some reading materials. There's no guarantee the in-flight entertainment movie will be to your liking, and if that's the case, you can curl up with a good book or magazine and go on a little adventure of your own.
All in all, the most important thing is that as your aircraft cruises through the sky at thousands of feet up, you're resting and relaxing and thoroughly enjoying your trip. Your Thailand adventure has just begun!
